Splinter removal

It is no secret that splinters are common. And while they can be painful, deep ones will usually require some sort of intervention for removal because there's not always an easy way to get them out on our own without causing more injury or infection in the process. Providers aren't just about removing your pesky little injuries; we're also able evaluate wounds and determine if tetanus shots or antibiotics might be required.

What are the possible complications of splinters?

Wood splinters are difficult to remove because they have uneven edges that get stuck in your skin. If all parts of a woody splinter remain, then there's a chance for infection or toxic reactions from the remaining pieces left behind if not removed properly with care and attention given upon extraction
Woods such as oak can be especially dangerous since these types often contain poison so extreme caution should always rule when cutting yourself on one!
